Sorry - was too terse. What I meant was, do you have a - for want of a better term - business plan? Can you see how you're going to make a living doing this?
No, I don't actually plan on writing being my livelihood. At least not at this point or in the foreseeable future.
I'm still planning on getting my RN. Writing is what I do because I love it and it gives me a real sense of joy, but it's very hard to make a comfortable--and more importantly, secure--living on it. I did the whole I'm-broke-and-let's-see-how-I-can-come-up-with-a-yet-another-way-to-cook-ramen thing when I was in my early twenties, and I want to avoid ever going back there. I enjoy being comfortably bourgeois, thanks.
And yes, I know it's possible to do other writing work while also working on fiction, but the truth is, I want to do other things, too.
Mind, if I were to fall into financial security via my writing, I'd be thrilled. But I know too many writers--and artists of every stripe--to think that it's likely.
Oh, Albie! You're so good at articulating! I love this--like fledgling just out of the nest. It's so true. I feel the same way. Terrified, in utter awe of myself and the world...

So, I don't plan on quitting my day job.

I often say that I'm a creature of thresholds; this is one that I've crossed, and it only allows travel in one direction--forward.
