I have come down with the ick. So have at least a third of us, if the sniffles, sneezes, coughs, and hacking that I hear in class and around the house are any indication

Yes, the downside to Seattle in the "summer." I used to put a blanket over one of the windows before I eventually found curtains I could modify. (Blackout curtains were too expensive, and too long.) I still have a blanket hanging from a curtain rod in the doorway, because I couldn't think of a better solution. I'd be happy to come down and help brainstorm a solution. Maybe grab a bite for dinner or something?
In unrelated news, I'm trying to think of a strategy for seeing HP. I was going to offer to wait until you're done with Clarion (because I'm sure mindspace is valuable), but now the marathon thing is calling me. (I like the idea of seeing them all in theaters, and $45 for all 8 pictures is a pretty good deal. Also, it's right after my birthday and seems like a good present to myself.) While I want to see & discuss it with you, I don't think I need that to be my first viewing. Do you care?
P.S. I'm not sure if I have blankets, but I do have some spare sheets you could try. Flannel might be thick enough to help. Then you wouldn't have to spend money on something that's just another thing to pack. :)
Ah--here's a moment of bleary, Guiness-prompted insight live from an Edinburgh airport hotel: workshop exhaustion, cumulatively, feels like jet lag! And therefore the body is equally vulerable to iillnesses, like the "ick" you report. I hope that you are recovering enough to put a great effort into your third week story!
