I did even less today than I did yesterday. It wasn't nearly as pleasant, though. I think I may have slept too much or something because I've felt very lethargic all day. It wasn't so much an enjoyable-lazy-lying-about day. It was more an icky-feeling-sluggish day. Not nearly as fun. I work tomorrow, which I'm actually looking forward to slightly. ( Read more... )

Sweet! I've started to realize that I am such a city-girl, I don't see beautiful scenery often. The times I remember being in pastoral places is when I went to Florence, and when I visit my uncle's ranch upstate NY. Those are the only two places I can remember visiting that didn't involve a city, be it small or large. I still love cities, and would prefer to live near one. But maybe living somewhat in the country would make an interesting change. =]

Where Doug is from is a tiny little farming community but its only about 30 mins from Portland and only 15 mins from Oregon City.
Thats the great thing about Oregon is that you can enjoy the gorgeous scenery and still be close enough to civilisation.
and Mt Hood..oh my goodness its gorgeous!!

I would love to live in Portland.
I heard a lot about it in my Sociology classes because it is one of the best designed cities (socially) in the U.S. (meaning that there aren't a lot of ghettos, they have nice parks in good locations, etc.) and I hear that its very friendly toward people of the curvy persuasion.

Unfortunately for Aaron and I, there are'nt terribly many places that employ actuaries out that way. So we'll end up staying in the northeast, most likely move to Hartford, Connecticut. And that's ok too. :-p

The more I mention Oregon the more people tell me what a great place it is...lol. Now I'm actually starting to get excited about maybe moving there. =Þ

Need to make sure I can get a job though. Otherwise there's no point, I'd just be tagging along after my parents.

well tagging along with your parents is ok if you don't hav a job period. I mean, its better to not have to pay rent while you look for a good job ya know?

Oregon really is the most beautiful state there is. It has everything! And Portland is a very large city, but it's not dirty like most big cities. It's a very artsy big city, and it is only about an hour and a half drive to the ocean. *melt* And an hour or so to Astoria! :)

Seattle is also quite nice, but it is less artsy and more industrial than Portland. Both are very nice as far as big cities go, and I love them both. But, being that I am and always will be a pacific northwest girl at heart, I am rather biased. Plus, I would love for you to live closer! I'd totally go and visit you tons.
