Christina Stead wasn't British, though. She was Australian by birth and an expatriate by nature. She spent most of her adult life wandering the US and Europe. The Man Who Loved Children is one of the most brilliant books on childhood I've ever read.

But Beverley usually has a pretty decent resale value at least. And if you can find her older Regencies, they're worth quite a bit.
And everybody needs a break from Technical Documentation!!! We just found out that the VP has decided that we don't need the contractor we'd already interviewed and had his permission to hire. [[beats head against wall]]

So I've discovered, and now I'm wondering where I got the British thing from. Apparently she ended up in the U.S. as well. Shows what I know. This is why the self-education is so badly needed. ::sigh::
