RotK midnight show

Dec 17, 2003 04:00

Holy sweet Jesus on whole wheat toast.

I love everybody involved with the making of these movies. (Except Rick Porras, although at the moment my benevolence almost extends even to him.)

I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep.

Possibly I will have thoughts later. Alternatively, there might just be bouncing.

Yes. Time has stopped. It will always be this night, and I will always be this bouncy. Sleep is no longer necessary.

The audience burst into applause twice during the showing I attended. Did that happen at yours?

My audience burst into applause and cheering...lemme see...the first time Gandalf gave Denethor the beat down (minor applause), when Eowyn lopped off the Fell Beast's head (minor applause and cheering), when she said "I am no man" and killed the Witch King (major applause and cheering - possibly the loudest of all the times), when Aragorn hopped off the boat ahead of the dead army (medium-large applause and cheering), when Legolas climbed up the mumakil (lots of applause), and...possibly several times after that, but by then I'd grown accustomed to it, so I don't remember specifically until the applause at the very end. Oh, there was big cheering and applause for the Aragorn/Arwen kiss. Great audience.

Not that you asked for a blow-by-blow accounting, but, yes, my audience burst into applause, too. Thank you for prompting me to write it down while I still remember.

At least twice, I think, although honestly I can't be sure because I was so intent on the movie that nothing else was registering, really.

You know, I'll be driving through Chicago first weekend in January. Maybe we should go see a matinee, if we're not tired of the movie by then. *g*

Heee! I'd be good with that - also it'll most likely still be in the theaters at Not-Escapade. You, me, renenet, sisabet, and possibly Merry. Wooo!
