farmers' market: autumn transition

I neglected to mention that I went to the Tuesday market this past week to pick up some more heirloom tomatoes: more green zebras, tigers, yellow ping-pongs, and wapsipinicon peaches, and a new-to-me variety called doctor carolines, which are rather like large cherry tomatoes (sweet, low-acid), very pale yellow in color

And, speaking of apples? Your new icon is making me feel very Snow White. Very Eve. I've reached out to grab its shiny perfection on more than one occasion. It's so...apple.

Isn't it? I wish I knew what kind of apple it is. I suspect it's something terribly plebian, like Red Delicious, but my ability to tell varieties apart by appearance is still in a very early stage of development.
