vid thoughts and musical free-association with a side of frustration

Sep 04, 2003 00:11

So truepenny and I (and occasionally her beloved spouse) have been on a movie binge for the past few days, as those of you who follow her LJ will know. I fully intend to link to her commentary and possibly even add some of my own, but this post is not about movies, or rather it is about movies only tangentially ( Read more... )

Thank you for the suggestions and implied sympathy. *g* I do in fact have all these strategies, or versions of them (biking, not yoga) in my repertoire; but you couldn't know that, of course, and I appreciate your passing them along.

The week's frazzlement has had less to do with my internal settings than with external circumstances - first week of school is a tangle of overwork, and seeing my students for the first time in months contributes much to the overstimulation. Both of those things will be abating significantly as of this weekend, so in part I just need to get through today and then I'll have some quality chill-out time this weekend.

{{{{}}}} Sorry you're having a rough time with the settling. Boy, can I relate to that.

But I can't make these movie vids because I don't have the source, don't really know the source well enough anyway;

Hmm... I've got Dead Man and Donnie Darko. :-D I've wanted to vid them both, too, but would much rather send them to you and get something brilliant out of it. Not meaning to pressure you, though. Just, you know, if you get the urge, I could send them your way.

Echo and the Bunnymen! *love*

Seriously? DVD, right? (I don't have the equipment to capture from tape.) I may take you up on that. Not right now -- too many other projects needing attention -- but I will definitely keep the offer in mind. I *really* appreciate it.

And yes, Echo & the Bunnymen! My thing for Ian McCulloch just went on and on. "The FLickering Wall," man. *sigh*

Well, I make no promises about the B/A vid, but it could happen. I'd want to wait for BtVS S5 source, though, so it wouldn't be finished for a while anyway.

Already exhausted.

I'm not surprised. I see exhaustion in my future, but right now I'm mostly just exhilarated.

I could remember the specific direction of rotation, location and speed of most of Angel's roundhouse kicks...

Of course you could. Now just imagine that in reverse. "Angel does roundhouse kicks? Really? Huh. Let's talk about Faith and knives."

I was so gonna say that! Exactly that! I don't often channel Lloyd Dobler, but when I do, I'm glad it's with you :)
