Long day, late dinner. The sun was well down by the time I checked the weather -- and there it was, first frost advisory of the season, a few days ahead of schedule

There's something very mindful and grounded about this post, both what you're doing and how you're describing it, and I find it very satisfying, even though I'm just sitting here on my couch with a cat on my lap instead of doing anything similar.
Over the last few years of learning to write about my garden, I've found that the best way to do it is simply to describe what's there; it makes its own magic.
For what it's worth, I think the cats would prefer that I stick to providing laps. :D
Heh, thanks to you I now have R.E.M. playing on a loop in my head. I bet bean pods make great cat toys... Theo doesn't know how lucky he is. You post had a very cozy feel to it, put me in a very happy place. Perhaps, I need to actually listen to Michael Stipe mumble his way through that song.
Oh, speaking of music from the past, did you hear that The Replacements reunited? The played on one of the late night talk shows last week, Jimmy Falon, I think. Sounded pretty darn good, and they were sober! LOL
The yard is nothing but a fence the sun just hurts my eyes somewhere It must be time for penitence...
:D
Bean pods DO make great toys! They're crunchy, and they make exciting scratchy sounds when batted around the floor, and when chewed they shatter into little fibrous bits that get all over one's fur, which means getting brushed by the biped, which is AWESOME!
The Replacements are actually playing a hometown show in Minneapolis tonight, a big stadium gig, and I am sad not to be there -- I never got to see them play live. This article sums up pretty well how I feel about the whole thing: I still love them, I am so grateful for their music, and I'm glad that their influence and importance is finally getting ackowledged in this massive way.
