eight things make a post

1) I just realized that I never posted about the Glee finale or the season as a whole. And, in fact, I have other people's posts about the finale open in browser tabs, still unread. Um. Apparently May got away from me? And June is not looking much better. Sometimes I miss my slacker youth ( Read more... )

IT WAS SO GOOD TO SEE YOU. And have you in my classroom! YOU UNDERSTAND. *smooshes you* Thank you for the kind words, friend. It may be ridiculous, but it means a lot to me that you think I'm a good teacher. (Your check is in the mail.)

Thank you for setting aside time to see me! Glad your travels are going well!

Of course I understand! I mean, not the part about the tiny people, but the teaching part. :D Obviously I love seeing you be happy in general, but seeing you be happy teaching is especially meaningful to me. For many of us, teaching is not just a profession but a calling, and that is something we share across grade level or subject matter.

I understand completely :-) I hope someday I get to watch you teach, too! For now, I'll settle for watching you lead VVC panels, hee.

I hate traveling, but sometimes I like being other places, and this is the necessary trade-off.

So true. I could do with not entering another plane til the end of my life, if it wasn't for the fact that there are so many amazing places and people in far away places that I still want to see.

And I can totally see 5) - I went to his panel on pacing, and he was a natural. Very engaging, but at the same time pacing (lol) the session well, making sure the discussions remained on topic, emphazising important points, and summarizing the key messages at the end. But most of all, his enthusiasm for the topic and the process were infectious. Sadly, many teachers, even if they are good, don't actually seem to ENJOY teaching, and that makes such a difference.

Ugh, planes. Do not want. But yes, so many people and places to see!

And J was just as fantastic in the classroom as that panel would lead you to expect. I am so proud to know him.

Good to hear you had such an enjoyable trip!

Please, next time you talk to Kat, send her my love and tell her I miss her. I get the feeling that she doesn't want to continue our friendship (I've sent more than a few emails that have gone unanswered), which confuses me and makes me sad, but I do miss her very much and wish her well. It's good to hear that she's doing so well with her life.

*hugs to you*

It was really great to see you! I appreciate your flexibility and patience with all the crap going on over here. <3

I wish I could call that vid into existence, too. It'd be so much EASIER, hee. When I inevitably get stuck, I'm coming to you.
