Man, that's so sweet, and such a big deal. Because young people, they might have the inclination and the money to do something like this, but they just don'g have TIME. So for those two to get the flowers and come round to your house, they must really, really appreciate you. You should be so chuffed. I'm hoping they've put in good work, too, so you don't have to agonize over their grades.

Well, they certainly have a lot more time now that the semester's over and finals are finished and one of them has graduated. Heh. But yes, that amidst their own end-of-year stuff they made time to come find me -- it was really exceptionally sweet. And the one who had class with me this semester did indeed write a terrific final paper, so I got to praise her for that in person. (My upper-level students are fantastic more often than not, which is one of the best things about my job.)
