One of the many things I love about being a teacher is that students give me stuff. They give me good ideas and funny stories and customized LOLcats. They e-mail me internet links to online essays that discuss the vagaries of diagramming sentences uttered by politicians. They give me mix CDs and music recommendations and, on one occasion,
