I mentioned a while back (in this post) that some colleagues and I were putting together a panel on BtVS for a media conference early next spring. Congratulations! That is wonderful.
Do you think it would be possible to ask someone to transcribe it for those of us that cannot attend?

Well... academic conferences don't usually get transcribed. I was thinking about posting my own paper at my website (and linking from LJ), and I could certainly sum up the gist of the other two papers on the panel.

Thank you! I'm very pleased. I've done this twice before (once Buffy, once Firefly) and had a blast both times.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to the conference -- I've never been to a pop culture conference before and am not at all sure what to expect.

I know it too. It's not us I'm worried about; it's the Other People.

I'm sure the Other People are worried, too. Or would be, if they knew that you were coming.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to it. Information about the conference is here:

And hey -- ABQ is home for you? I'm going to need restaurant recommendations for the grad-student budget, especially since I want to take my baby colleagues out to dinner -- it's their first conference.

Yup, ABQ is home for me. Oh, the lovely mountains!

Your hotel is truly downtown, though I'm not so sure about the "minutes from the airport" thing. As for putting together a list of recs for the grad student budget, no problem! We just had our department conference here, so we have material left over from that, and I can get recs from other people. (I know you're steps away the movie theater, which has an excellent Thai restaurant nearby...) Just let me know when you'd want 'em, and any other information you'd like.

Thai food! Thai food! Yes! Tell!

Restaurant info is really the key stuff; I don't know that we'll have time for much of anything else. If you want to pass along recommendations now while we're both thinking about it, that'd be great; stuff within walking distance of the hotel (i.e. within a mile and a half) would be ideal, but if there's somewhere beyond that area that we MUST go, we can always split a cab.
