I love this very much. You know, I love all of it (*) , but I love this best.

(*) of course you selected gems for the excerpting! But it's impressive, the fact that each piece must therefore have at least one gem. And I'm certain it doesn't stop here. I'd love to see these works in entirety. Someday!

Of course you like best the bit from the poem that is most stuck! In some cases the line I posted is the ONLY line that's working, but it's good to know you think they're promising. Many of these are so old that I can't even work up any good crankiness about the not-working; I just look at them and think, eh, not that one again.

There is also a not-a-poem about the basement of the British museum, which is currently two pages of prose and no actual lines. Although I do have one phrase.

I have to keep reminding myself that sometimes the lines don't work because I don't know what they're about yet. Which happened most spectacularly with "Root Vegetable Poem."
