Ahh. Heirlooms. I love them so much it's driven me to repond.

First things first. I originally found your LJ thru your Farscape posts, which I really enjoyed, and then stayed due to the vidding talk and vegetable love.

Tomatoes. Last year we went wild and planted about ten different heirloom varieties in an altogether too small plot, but had heirloom love all late-summer long. The pizza sounds really good, but if time is short, I found that eating them Caprese-style was almost as good as it gets. The cool thing about the heirlooms is the difference in tastes and textures. I was so sad when the rains of Autumn started and we had to say goodbye.

I'm hoping my housemates will do tomatoes next year. I suck at growing things myself.

a tiny pale yellow tomato that is *not* a lemon drop and that he couldn't remember the name of but is "white something,"

It sounds like White Currant -- I grew some of those this year.
