So I don't really have an excuse for not posting as work has slowed down a little bit (blame television without pity and battlestar galactica recaps plus lj being really slow this week. I never thought I'd miss the days where I'd see the same meme 50 times

It was pretty good. I never can quite manage to crimp my crusts properly though. I suspect I'd just need to spend a couple of months making a lot of pies to get it always looking pretty.

Crimping? Is that where you use a fork to press the crust down? Seems simple enough to me, what's the issue? Asides from that you didn't fork-crimp this one. };)

Oh, it just never turns out pretty :-) Tasty and functional, yes, but not pretty. I usually have very ragged edges on my pastry when it's rolled out because I'm incapable of rolling things into anything resembling an actual circle.

It's not a stand alone, it's a series although only the first book is out yet. It's about Verity Price, a woman from a family of cryptozoologists who also is a competitive ballroom dancer. Bit silly, good read. And there are demon mice.

Cool, if it's the first book, I'll check it out. I have some of the author's other books in my TBR -- it just takes me ages to get to them!
