In which Michael finds his father.

Storming a Triad guarded building wasn't an easy thing to do, so they went in with every weapon they had. Finding out where they were even holding his father had been hard, but they had still managed to do it, tracking their movement and backtracking when they were wrong, over and over again until they had found the right facility, and even then ( Read more... )

The cold floor was the only comfort that Sam had for the last few days as his body was starting to succumb to the infections and pain and the last residuals of the blood addiction withdrawal.

It was easier to just lay still and breathe and sleep then to even fight any longer. Stolas had even gotten bored when Sam stopped fighting back and just laid there and ignored him. He wondered if they were just waiting for something, or if they just planned to let him die on his own and see how long it would take.

He woke up when the exorcism was played over the PA. His face was turned away from the door and he couldn't even lift his head when he heard the door open and his son's voice. He did, however, hiss as he felt his son's hand on his shoulder. It was a light touch but he just hurt everywhere at this point.

"Michael?" he asked, hoping it wasn't a trick of Stolas' in his mind again. One bloodshot eye cracked open to see the foggy outline of his son.

Michael let out a breath he hadn't realized he'd been holding when he heard his father speak, before glancing back over his shoulder to order a gurney to be brought in to get them out of there. They'd done a salt line around the perimeter, but they still weren't sure if the entire building was secure, so he wanted to get Sam out of there as quickly as possible.

He'd heard the hiss, though, so he moved his hand, checking Sam over for fatal injuries that needed to be attended to right away. "Yeah, Dad. It's me."

Michael would notice the broken arm, as well as the deep bruising over almost 2/3rds of Sam's body. Amazingly, his legs were actually still in tact except for some scrapes and cuts. Most of the damage was on his ribs and upper body.

"Need to get out..." he said before his words were cut off as he hissed hard when hands started to move him to the gurney. He wanted to scream but he wouldn't now, not in front of his son.

He was talking about his son getting out. He couldn't let Stolas come back and get his hands on Michael. He'd rather they leave him to die than that.

"Yeah, Dad, we're getting out," Michael said with a nod, walking at his side as they wheeled him out of the building. "Don't worry. We've got it covered."

They moved quickly, not wanting to waste any more time than they had to. Rolling Sam out of the building they loaded him onto one of the trucks and started to race their way out of the area while the medics attended to Sam. Michael just kept close, his hand resting on Sam's calf, partially for Sam and partially for himself, just to make sure he was still there.
