In which they get ready to take Tara home.

Mike made his way over to the room where Tara was staying in, turning his car keys in his hand. He was getting ready to take her back to her place. He'd liked having her around the past few days, but he couldn't expect her to stay forever. She would have to go home sooner or later, and it appeared to be now, rather than later ( Read more... )

It had only been a few days, but Tara had found a tiny bit of home in the complex. There were a few wives of these "hunters" who had started to sit with her and explain things a bit better. She had a feeling some of them would have been sent to stay with her when Michael had gone off to do something or another, but she didn't mind.

Everyone she met was nice, and they made her feel welcome.

And of course, Michael was a constant. He tried to be around her as often as he could. She should have found his hovering annoying... but she didn't. She liked having her own personal savior following her around. Part of her was going to miss that now that she was so used to it.

Of course, of all the people she had met, his parents were not in that group. Apparently they were not as social as their son.

"I guess." She had a small bag of clothes that had been given to her which she zipped up.

It wasn't that his parents weren't social, they were just -- complicated. It's kind of hard to explain the whole 'my dad is an immortal and my mom is a demon' thing to anyone right off the bat. He figured that when this went somewhere -- if this went somewhere -- he would introduce her then. But for right now, he was happier keeping her to himself.

He moved to help her take one of the bags, and gave her a nod. "Do you need to get anything before I take you home?"

"Think I can take Sarah Ann home with me? I swear I haven't eaten this well in years." Tara had fallen in love with one of the cooks and had gone so far to ask the older woman to teach her a thing or two in the kitchen.

He chuckled slightly, before shaking his head. "I think several of us here would be very upset if you did."
