I had already been back to my parents' house since George died, but you know how it can take a while for your brain to fully realise that a childhood pet is gone; particularly when, for the last year of their life, you only saw them sporadically. I wish I could walk to the post office!

It must've been hard for you, expecting to see George only for the realization to finally hit you that she's really gone. (hugs) One of my childhood pets, Mousse, died of feline leukemia? I think? at a young age and I swear that I caught glimpses of her running through the house every once in awhile for years after that.

Yeah, I was also a huge ghost-freak at the time, so I might have been imagining it. (shrug) I like to think not, though.
