A New Guestmap

Ooh! Shiny! I have a new guest map for my LJ, so even if you've put a pin on the one I've had on my profile page for years, please click on this one and enter your location! I'm pretty sure that all you have to do is click . . . you don't have to do anything else at the site to enter your location; it happens automatically. (This took me a while to ( Read more... )

I clicked but it looks like my location is already on there. :D

Heh . . . no, I think your click put the location there. Because I only see one from WY. Of course, there are also places listed that I'm not sure I know anyone who lives there - like place names in Australia I've never heard before. :D It's kind of weird, but pretty, too. So, I like it. :D

I clicked yours, btw - my dot comes out labeled "San Francisco," even though that's not really where I live. Close enough, though.

Kinda scary - so by the time I was wondering what to do, it had already put me in: as Farnham, because that's where I work. If I go home and click again, will it realise I'm the same person (or computer)? I'll be on a different ISP so it'll be interesting to see.

Presumably the 'Loco' part of the name refers to your flist?

Now I'm " , United Kingdom", so I guess the Pope's attempts to abolish Limbo must have failed.

I hear a click when I click but I don't see anything being added to your list. How are people adding stuff as specific as San Leandro, CA? Or are they just getting lucky? (Or maybe they're actually in Reno and they're getting UNlucky.)

I all happens automatically - when I click on the maps, it enters San Francisco as my location. Which isn't quite right, but close enough. But still - for me, San Leandro would be closer. (I'm guessing that the person who's listed as San Leandro is my friend who really lives in Fremont). Plus, there are all sorts of place names from Australia that I've never heard of before. I have no idea how it works - but it sure is pretty! ;)

Well, I clicked and nothing seemed to happen, but now I see someone from Sunnyvale has appeared, so that's probably me. For all I know I'm the person who showed up as San Jose too. But then, I'm voting for two, so why not?

Either you have some 3 people from SA or it logs whenever someone loads that pic. Shiny. :)

No, I do have at least four people from SA on my f-list (including you and S). So that part's probably legit. I'm still wondering about some of the place names that are coming up, but SHINY! Who really cares as long as it's shiny, right? ;)

It says I'm in Farmington, MI. I'm not sure I've ever been to Farmington, but it is reasonably close to where I live. My ISP must connect through there, or something....
