This really sucks, Paula. I don't understand why people do something like this. It makes me think that I might have to concider making my icons friends only as well.

Like I said, I have never really liked friends only journals, but now I understand why people take these measures. Ya know what is weird, it's only Xanga users, no one else has hot linked my icons, I have checked my webstats, it's just dumbass Xanga users. And I am amazed at how little they understand about hot linking. They do it so freely but don't actually know what it is or what the consequences are. There are a load of Xanga icon sites out there, whose sole purpose is to display other people's icons, without the icons makers permission or knowledge. Ugh, it jsut pisses me off that I have had to do this.

Personally, I've never hotlinked anything and I will never do it.

That really sucks but at least you've disabled hotlinking and given them a beautiful thief image to have instead. lol!
