The trick is to start at a small/new con. Trying somewhere like Katsucon or Otakon is guaranteed to make you run screaming...or crying...like me XD;

The only time I ever got a table at an artist alley was at AnimeUSA back in like 2003 when it was still $25ish for the whole weekend XD Haven't since, too intimidating.

For every good person in an artist alley there are like 10 horrible artists who draw furry crap or everyone is turned into Sonic characters. So, even if you dislike your own art.....chances are, someone else really likes it.

That's actually a very good point. I've seen this first hand and believe me, those people make me feel a hell of a lot better about my own work. I'm pretty sure there's at least a few that like my stuff, so that also helps me keep going.
