i agree with you on the thrift store shopping. whenever i see a friend wearing something really great and ask where they bought it, they say, "ohhh at a vintage store!" but whenever i actually GO to a vintage clothes shop... nothing good is there! i bet they're lying so as to seem cool, or something...

so to answer your question; i adore stores like urban outfitters, and their prices are really pretty good. right now i'm actually wearing a shirt i bought there for only $16.

i checked their website, they have a store in LA.

hollywood is an ok place to shop... but i mean amoeba sooo awesome i could spend all my money there
but there are sum good vintage shops that are a bit pricey but u will always find sumthing out in ventura blvd area more towards van nuys
Hollywood thrift shops will just have alot of junk that most likely wont fit u cuz that is how thrift shops are.
But if ur looking for good worn out clothing u should try going to Santa monica if u can.
the boardwalk has alot of crap sum good if u can find it but otherwise walk along mainstreet and sum good stuff along there
but 3rd st. promenade has lots of stores that have sales if u dont mind sum brand names.
if u need more i can tell u more places to look, cuz i live in the valley and tend to have the same problems as u
