Hah! Devious, am I? Why, I'm as utterly devoted to the cause of the great Alexander as you are. I would follow him to the ends of the earth, and have. As for schemes, I have none. Really, Heph, you're much too suspicious -- remember Philotas? That's what happens when you let your jealousy get the better of you.

Alexander may think you have no flaws, but I know better. You can be spiteful and have a nasty temper. Let us not forget that incident in India where you and Krateros got into a knock-down, drag-out, hair-pulling cat-fight and Alexander had to forcibly separate you.

Btw, if I were you, I'd spend less time worrying about Bagoas and keep a closer eye on Krateros. He's much too ambitious; they don't call him philabasileos (lover of the king) for nothing. Methinks he wouldn't mind becoming Alexander's lover in more than just name. Last time I checked, that was your job description ( ... )

Do not compare me to that scum, Philotas. He never loved Alexander, and deserved his fate.

If Alexander's crown was lying on the side of the road, would you stop to pick it up? Or would you first search for its rightful owner?

Krateros is too old to be a threat. Alexander adores perfection above all else... which is why I keep a watch on both you and Bagoas.

Mine seems to be functioning properly. It looks just like Ptolemy.
