I think it looks more secretive than it does gloomy, as if something is about to happen somewhere in the city. Perhaps Sherlock Holmes will be the one to ferret out the clues. OK, now I'm getting carried away. But I do like the dark colors you used.

Thanks! It's an excellent verb, very twitchy and nervous, but alert and ready for anything.

My kids use it as a noun, as in "you ferret!" Or else they'll refer to each other as stoats.
