I have never been part of organized religion (except when I was young and had no choice) because I can't accept the idea of blind faith. I have way too many questions that I want answers to, and no one that is part of organized religion can or will answer them.
The only "religion" (in quotes because it's not technically a religion) that I've felt even remotely connected to is Wiccan. I tend to identify with the earthy, natural side of things, and Wiccan is just that.
Wicca is a pagan religion, and most people call those who practice it witches. The word witch, however, can have a very negative connotation for a lot of people, and in some cases, for good reason.
True Wiccans worship the earth, celebrate the change of seasons, and believe in the Golden Rule. They live by the words "Do as thou will and it harm none" and "Whatever evil you do will return to you threefold." True Wiccans don't worship Satan, or cast voodoo-like spells on people. They are peaceful and down-to-earth and wouldn't dream of hurting anyone.
I see. It seems like a nice thing. Quite interesting. It's at least better than many religious teachings.
I sort of understand that philosophy. I mean, I was brought up as a Buddhist, and one of the main things about is refraining from harming anyone or anything, even animals and plant life. There's also the concept of Karma, which means that whatever good we do, returns to us, and same goes for the bad we do. It's like be-done-by-as-you-did. (Water babies- Have you read it?) If you don't want evil to happen to you, and have a good life, you have to refrain from doing evil and commit yourself to good deeds.

I'd never heard if Wiccan before, though. Sounds interesting.

Thank you for explaining.
