much of these were thrift store finds actually. we are really really lucky because there is this amazing set of thriftstores within like a 3mile radius here that trucks in clothes from all over the state. and this school has a ton of parental involvement, and since many of us are artists which do work like set-building and stuff, we are super creative and skilled at making stuff into other things. like dorothy's apron, i dunno if you can tell, was a tablecloth. the lullaby league costumes were made out of some curtains and a ballgown. lion's costume was a set of sofa cushions and like 10 stuffed animals. we skinned them for their furry furry pelts.
this is such a small town that there is a lot of subtle public pressure to help in the schools and stuff if you have kids there. plus people just like being involved. we are all very lucky this town is like this. super anomaly.
Oh my... I couldn't even tell! Now that I look, I see it. You are all amazing and I really hope any kid I have ends up at a school with such fantastically creative people.
thank you! i love this stuff, it is totally my forte. thank god i went to that expensive private art school so i could learn to use those skills on middle school theatre projects! hehe! but no, this stuff is so fun. when you guys have kids i highly recommend you force them into doing play stuff and join in the fun. evan did theatre in middle school too, but he never would go onstage, he just liked to be stage crew (the kids in all black who change the scenery and deal with the props and stuff)
for being uninspired, and having a bad angle, this came out great! I always love watching a performance done by kids. I know the hard work that goes into it. :)
