I see this was posted a while ago, but I just now got around to finding your LJ (you find the most interesting things while avoiding work!).

I LOVE this story. It is such an great character study of Ben. I think the line, "I'd appreciate it if you keep your distance," speaks volumes -- even in his most intimage moments, he never lets anybody close to him. It is also interesting to me that your fantasy writing of Ben, where you really can have ANYTHING you want, you give yourself so little.

You should definitely write more. This is wonderful!
