This year I mostly ignored my own birthday, a bit of a comedown from last year's huge (for me anyway) social event. I thought about doing a repeat of that, but, of the people who were there, I only see two more often than last year, so any imitation would have been inferior

Wow--you did watch a lot of movies...none of which I've ever seen, btw. (And I had to look up the Bechdel test. Good to know that one. Thanks.)
