Honoring the Ancestors

For me honoring the ancestors works. Not in material or power gain, because I am not asking for that. But I gain a sense of being watched out for, the way a parent does. You still scrape your knee, but they try to keep you from playing in traffic. You still want all the toys in the Christmas catalog, but they focus on keeping you fed, warm, ( Read more... )

hi Tori, yep, I am an Ioway tribal member too, Lance Foster. I have Sac and Fox too (it's really the Sauk, because the Fox are the Meskawki and they are still in Iowa- the U.S. just treated the two tribes jointly in treaties). My Sauk lineage is through the Murphy family back to Eliza LeDuc who was of Black Hawk's family according to family stories, his niece.
