When I was younger, and at several times during my life, such was my spiritual devotion and seeking that I had thought of becoming a Catholic monk. This morning I came across the writings of an ex-monk and one of the most famous monks. I saved these scraps to remember

I've wanted to write you about your quotations from my little article on my relationship with Thomas Merton from the website noted above. I thank you for using what you did and have been most interested in your Native American background. I was one of those kids who would see "western movies" on a Saturday morning and always rooted for your kin and was often booed by the other patrons who had other ideas. The indigenous population which this country did its best to destroy had a reverence for this planet which we whites have summarily dismissed to our eternal shame. Show me where on your site you speak of your background.
