Another chapter! :))) And what a twist, too.

Jack is very forceful, isn't he? Not surprising given how worried he is about the Doctor, and also that he has to be suppressing all his reawakened resentment about what's been done to him. I'm glad Donna didn't give him what he wanted immediately. Nice work, too, on giving her those very subtle flashes of familiarity.

I have to say that this:

When he thought she wasn’t looking, he looked at her like his heart might break; and when Donna went up the hill with him at night, he always stayed out after she went in, instead of joining her for a cuppa before bed as he used to do.

made me very sad. Poor Donna - and poor Wilf! How hard it must be for him to see her like that, remembering how she was before.

Can't wait for the final chapter!

I'm quite sure that Jack would have thrown Donna over his shoulder and carried her back to the TARDIS if he thought that he had to. :P You're right; not only is he feeling worried and helpless, he's trying very hard not to feel anything, because that would mean having to deal with his own emotions (again) about being left behind by the Doctor. So he's not really equipped at the moment to be handling Donna's emotions, either.

The impact of the Doctor's actions on Wilf isn't something I've seen treated very often in fic. I have to think he would be just devastated and that that would impact their relationship.
