Random recent events

I'm supposed to be studying for a stupid exam I don't want to take so I may as well post some random recent events, right?

6/7: My first trip on the Portland Spirit!  The OHSU Family Medicine Department hosted a dinner cruise for the last year's donors and invited another student and I to join them.  It was a delicious dinner, a fun time watching ( Read more... )

ty! I'm leaning more and more that way. I just wish I could find *one* dress in the style I want so I can try it on and make sure it doesn't look funny before commissioning someone to make one! grumble. Anyway, who cares it's a dress for one day!

Ma says that she has no specific ideas. But she did send me some ideas for ya.

Here's a couple of thoughts though...look in second hand shops, and check out tailors online.

Emialing tailors and seeing if they have X dress example or something like it is a way to save yourself some time. Another that I've seen is to check out the prom and other formal dress selections in the mall. Possibly purchasing one of those and having it altered for more/less glam.

Regarding dresses: My friends Nate & Kate are getting married; Kate's actually looking into getting a used wedding dress - under the theory that it's a) greener and b) much cheaper; allowing them to spend the money in other, more worthy areas. Something to look into maybe!

Yesh.
It's a good thought! i'll have to see where you can even do that around here.
What ARE the more worthy areas of a wedding? I'm so indignant at the overall cost of the event I don't even know what's worth spending money on and what's not. I suppose I should have fantasized about my wedding more as a child.

Sounds like a wild time! Good luck with the dress, and I hope depressing patient stories don't get to you too much! Much love!
