Title: A Full-Time Job Fandom: Chuck Rating: PG Spoilers: Set somewhere between 3.05 ("Chuck Versus First Class) and 3.07 ("Chuck Versus the Mask"). Summary: It's Casey's job to take care of his partner.
This is a really well-written, in-character story! You have each of the characters mannerisms and dialogue down pat. I can't really point out any specific moments, because it all felt so very realistic.
I really liked how Casey walked around in circles in his head about his relationship with Walker. It makes sense to me and it makes sense for his character.
I especially liked when Sarah opened up to Casey about not being the most open person. I could totally see her saying that, and it is so true.
I also like that this never really veered into romantic/sexy times territory. I think their relationship is so so so much more than that and I appreciate that you took the time to show that in your story.
I sincerely hope to read more from you in this fandom/ship.
First off, I cannot let this comment go by without saying that your icon is ridiculously adorable. Ellie! <3
Glad you liked the story! It was an enjoyable challenge to write, getting their complementary intimacy issues to line up just right as they gradually accept that this might actually be something approaching friendship.
And yeah, as hard as I 'ship these two, this story was neither the time or the place. :)
I loved this a lot. It's great to get a little more in Casey's head and to see the various people on the show from his perspective - the conversation with Morgan was sweet! But especially his relationship with Sarah, how he was a little pissed that she didn't trust him completely, how he got her a blanket and a pillow, and how he understands her. Great fic.
I'm a little bit in love with sitting inside Casey's head from time to time, I think. It's a fun little place to visit, and I wish we got more time there from the show proper. And I'm kinda proud of the bit with Morgan in hindsight, now that their relationship is becoming more important to the show. :)
I'm glad you liked this, and thanks for reviewing!
