If you want to be taken seriously by diplomats, and if you want to sit at the big kids table. You should act like adults and diplomats instead of petulant, naive children. An example of how NOT to effectively move your agenda would be CodePinkDemonstrations and protests are about raising awareness. It's for the people, not the politicians. Because

They've won. They've gotten attention that they otherwise never would have, what more could they possibly want?

People didn't pay as much attention to the anti-war movement before the war started as they are paying these outrageous protesters now. Polite discourse gets you no where in this society unless you have the cash to back it up. When I realized this, I gave up. Other people decided to spurn polite discourse, and at least people hear what they have to say, however out-there it is.
