two questions...

1. i am looking for a pair of black gladiator-style (or similar, really just interesting straps) sandals, preferably without anything that goes between the toes.
i like these by stuart weitzman but they look atrocious on.

Anthropologie had a ton of them on clearance last time I was in the store, I'd try the website if you don't have a store near you.
