I created this site so that hopefully I can get enough fandom (and others) people to join so that we can raise money to help the flood victims of Queensland Australia

Hey there,

I'm in Victoria and have been keeping tabs on this for the last couple of days and it's just devastating. I'm off to San Francisco for the convention tomorrow and I'm no good at fic, art or craft but if there's anything else I can do to help you when I get back, please let me know. I've never run a comm myself either, but I'm willing to give it a go and help you if you need it. I fly back in to Victoria on Jan 24, so I'll be able to help you after that.

Okay, I've never done this before, but I've seen similar things done. How does this work? Can I offer some graphics? Let me know how I can help. I'll also re-post this in my journal to help you spread the word.

Okay. The hardest part for me, I think, would be the starting bid. If someone could tell me what a good price to start out from would be, that would be great.

That's absolutely horrible about the flooding, but it's wonderful that you're doing something to help.

I can do fic or art. I haven't done this before in a mod capacity, but I was a participant in the help_haiti community so I've seen these auction type things run before.

I would love to help out.

Have donated $25 to the Queensland RSPCA's flood appeal and I'm planning to donate to the red cross via some kind of fandom element, if possible.

I'm not a fiction writer; however I'm thinking of a few craft elements I might be able to create.

Otherwise, I, too, have not run a Help! community. I have co-run communities though. (I'm down in Melbourne)

Thanks for the donations you've made so far :D I'm sure the rspca will need it too as tonight they had to evacuate all the animals tonight before the floods reached them too.
