And THAT. Exactly my issue with the Britain thing. Yeah we're a union but there's four countries in it guys. Come on. Okay UK wouldn't sound right I imagine but yeah... orz.
Well I suppose if HRE can exist as a collection of states...
But. Britain? All of the stereotypes associated with the character are English stereotypes. To be honest I'm disappointed. It's hit and miss really; the other voices were alright (maybe sans China) but this one just kind of ruins it.
Yeah, that too. He's always characterised as English no matter what he's called and since we know by Word of God that the other UK nations exist still, it's silly.
I wasn't planning to watch the dub anyway, but now I definately won't ( or at least only watch episodes without England, few as they are). I just really can't stand poorly-imitated English accents in dubs, they drive me crazy. Why couldn't they have got Walter's VA from Hellsing or something.
In australia send blankets and help plz. Think NWO invaded maybe. Rode a horse and didn't fall off. Dogs are cute. Still cold and I only brought one jumper, typing on iPod coz mum's asleep, should be online in 7 hours or less, mayb.
I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK I MISSED YOUUUUUUUU~ <3 Glad you had fun!
England's voice made me laugh really hard. And then I thought about James from Pokemon. And then I thought about that episode of him with breasts. And then I cried because I couldn't unsee England with breasts. B| I knew you'd flip out at the "Britain" thing. Most of the rest of the fandom has too.
(But that Captain Hook line was priceless.)
I love France's voice. That is all.
Their version of America is using a standard American accent without regional inflections. That's uh... that's kind of what most people here sound like, especially in cities, for the majority of their speech. Regionally there will be pronunciation differences on a few words here and there but otherwise it's kind of like that.
(Unless you're from a very specific place where the accent is usually thick. But then people hear you from and mile away and are like "haha I know where you're from!")
... fuck it Lurker now I cannot unsee it ever. Pfffffff At least if England had breasts there would be a reason for all his PMSing. I'm not flipping out over it so much as I am irritated about it. The Scots will probably be more angry over it.
(I lol'd at that even if it was kind of bemused.)
Honhonhonhon. "If you are done releasing sexual tensions..."
That's kind of odd, since when Nena and I were listening it sounded a bit like America's accent was put on or emphasised... though maybe it was. idek I'm only half coherent.
I swear I've heard people speaking without an accent (or rather with Standard American accent) that don't sound like that. Though I am no expert really. Maybe it's because he's next to England and all those other accents.
\o/ well we were only staying two nights so. <3 Bastille day was cool.
THEY HAD TO PICK THE SCENE WITH THE FAERIES DIDN'T THEY. I wonder if there's a term for so traumatised you're laughing bemusedly.
And you're not allowed to visit Holland's place any more. Or accept magic brownies from Belgium.
I've never heard it used on it's own without a "Great" or "Little" tacked on. It sounds awkward. idefk I knew I wasn't going to watch the dub anyway. It's just... yeah, the fandumb are going to latch on to this.
Dammit I wish I could just hop over to France whenever I wanted to orz. /o/ Hope it was an awesome anniversary nonetheless! <3
I THINK AMERICA IS TRYING TO TELL US SOMETHING. He's the one dubbing it afterr all lmao. XDDD Shell-shock maybe fff. That must be it. I have no other words orz.
I think we should take a visit to the AA while we're at it.
This. I think that's it exactly. It sounds weird, America stop iiiiit. I was expecting many things... but "Britain" wasn't one of them. I might just have to watch it for France though. <3 And later on for Spain's deep voice fff orz.
