A long answer to no question reallyskabootchJuly 13 2005, 04:11:05 UTC
Ah Helen, It sounds like you are super busy, and having lots to think about. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, and maybe even to be answering here, instead of knocking on your door. But, y'know, if there's anything I can do, feel free to knock over here. Congrats on the house, it seems so sudden, I can't wait to hear all about it. I've sort of half been thinking about looking into that lately and trying to figure if and what I could afford. Happy birthday!!! I hope everything at Kent is less annoying than orientation was

You know, I really appreciate your wild ramblings whether here or in person. I feel as if you understand what I'm going through, particularly with friends. I do think being in a serious relationship does have some effect on my overall desire to make new friends... it's easy to rely on Jeff for social interaction and sometimes I feel like I'm using him as an excuse not to put forth the effort into making new (closer) friends. Then again, I've always been a little introverted, maybe even social phobic when I first moved out of my dad's house. Living in Dominica really scared me away from approaching people... everywhere I went (and this isn't an exaggeration) I got "hissed" at (the equivalent of a cat call) by every single male there from 8 to 80 years old, I guess because it was customary to harass white people. There were times when I was afraid of being raped on my way to school, but luckily I somehow managed to avoid that. I don't think I ever really got over that experience
