Round 8 [Audio]

Nov 30, 2011 00:48

Can someone please tell me what the hell is going on? Is this happening to everyone? Did we do something wrong? Is this just some really shitty prank?

[One moment he's in his forge with Iriel and Ryn and the next he's suddenly handcuffed between them with a key in his hand, which doesn't seem to work on any of these locks. Why is it that every ( Read more... )

[Ryn's glaring at her handcuff as if she might be able burn the damn thing off just by staring at it, listening to Iriel swearing up a storm and occasionally adding in a curse word of her own - in Gaelic, for good measure.

Because, seriously. What the fuck is this?]

This had better not end up going in a similar way as the last fucking time we thought they might be pranking us.

[Iriel winked at Ryn and started rummaging around for her things, hidden beneath the hay in the loft.]

It's my favorite, so don't forget that it's a loaner.

[She brushed some hat off of her quiver of arrows, and unwrapped her pistol in it's holster. Reattaching the holster to her belt was easy enough. It was then she realized that her knife sheath was still strapped around beneath her pants.]

Look away if you don't want to see my white ass, kiddos.

[And then she unbuttoned her pants and dropped trou.]

[Zachariah is about to say something when Iriel stops him dead. For a moment Zachariah just stares, then his face turns a very bright red before he turns away and shuts his eyes. Whatever he was going to say he's completely forgotten.]

I um...I...uhhh...

[And it seems that his brain has broken entirely. Thankfully Abeni's not around to see this.]

[She grins at the wink.]

I'll take good care of it until it's back in yours hands.

[And she's going to reply to that, too, but then she's very much distracted by Zachariah's reaction. She doesn't bother hiding her amused grin, though she does manage to avoid a laugh.]

I'll tell you when she's suitably clothed and you're safe from being overly distracted by her hotness.

[Yeah, no, she's not looking away. Sorry, Iriel, Ryn has no shame.]

[Iriel's not surprised Zachariah looks away, but she does look over to see Ryn looking and chuckles a bit.

In easy movements, she unstraps the sheath from the side of her leg and holds it out to Ryn behind Zachariah's back. It would do Ryn no good beneath her pants since Iriel doubted she had a hole in her pocket to reach through, but it would strap around the outside of her leg just as easily.

She pulled her pants on again and then elbowed Zachariah in the ribs.]

Ryn you're just all kinds of complimentary. Gonna have to keep you around.

[She looks at Zachariah.]

My hot ass is covered up now, buddy.

[Zachariah grunts before opening one of his eyes to make sure she's actually dressed. It wouldn't surprise him that she only said that to mess with his head a little more. Fortunately her pants are back where they should be. That doesn't mean that Zachariah isn't only less red or embarrassed. For once he would love not to feel like the butt of everyone's joke.]

That uh...thanks...

[He takes a breath.]

So do we have a plan after this?

[Sure being armed is great and all but it really doesn't help them get out of the situation that they're already in.]

[Ryn smirks a bit at the chuckle, giving her a wink. Joking aside, though, Iriel is pretty hot.

She takes the knife from Iriel with a grateful grin, strapping it around her thigh while Iriel pulls back on.]

You do and there's a hell of a lot more where those came from.

[She grimaces slightly at Zachariah's question, considering that.]

Good question. Whatever we do, I'm thinking we might want to avoid other people, if we can. Figuring we probably don't need to add anyone else to this little chain.

A healthy distance would be good...

But as for what we do, I say we try to find something to pick the locks, or start trading keys with people from a safe ways away. Maybe our keys fit someone else's locks?

[Because Iriel wasn't going to deal with this by just waiting for it to pass. She liked Zachariah and Ryn but staying this restricted seemed dangerous in enemy territory.]

Anyone else got any other plans or ideas?

I'd say the two of you keep your hands in your pockets as much as possible. If we're going to start trading keys then I'll handle it because, well, I'm out of hands to cuff.

[Unless they start attaching elsewhere. He really hopes that doesn't happen.]

Honestly though, I think laying low and trying to pick the locks are our best bet. If shit hits the fan I don't think we want to be anywhere near it like this.

Yeah, I'm liking laying low and lock picking, at least for now. I may be able to heal us, but I'd rather not have to.

[She eyes the cuffs. What she wouldn't give for Pride or Gluttony right now.]

Either of you an expert in it, or do you think they've actually got books in the library on it? Because I know the basics, but it wasn't my specialty.

I can pick locks easily enough but only with the right tools. Doubt we'll find what we need around here if everything's as antiquated as it seems.

[Iriel gave Riah a brief look, and then reluctantly shoved her free hand in her pocket. It was a good idea, even if she didn't like it.]

Either of you got things to work with?

[He gives Iriel an apologetic look, but better for her only free hand to be stuck in her pocket than stuck to someone else.]

My screwdriver might work.

[Right, pockets. She should probably get on that. She shoves her own hand into her pocket.]

Here's to hoping the cuffs aren't going to just yank our hands out of pockets the second we walk by someone.

[She makes a bit of a face at Iriel's question.]

Just keys and a couple of hairpins, nothing that'll do much good, but you're welcome to them.

[Iriel hadn't thought about the cuffs behaving that way. It wasn't expected, but then that's what they'd done in the first place. She made a face.]

I'll take the hairpins if you're not too attached to them.

[It wasn't the best tool but it'd do in a pinch.]

Anyone else wonder if this is all just to keep us busy and out of the way while something else goes down?

[Commentlog] helluvachin December 8 2011, 03:38:47 UTC
Maybe, but why do it to the people who work here too?

[If that's the case then he would understand why they're getting cuffed together, but what would be the point in handcuffing staff members? Wouldn't they be in on it?]

[She's pulling her hand back out of her pocket, then, reaching into her back pocket to pull out a pair of hairpins.]

They're all yours. I've got a couple more, but they're up in my room.

[Ryn shrugs slightly at Zachariah's question.]

To keep us from being suspicious? Or maybe to prevent the ones who'd be more inclined to helping us from doing so?
