[Dusk descended and night enveloped the gloom, much like the peculiar shadow that filled the doorway to the Hellsing's main quarters. Readily was the beast to hear her call as he was taken once again from the steely halls of the Hospital, made to be the willing lab-rat so that they might have their solution to leaving this festered place.]

Master, do I try again your steel-woven constancy?

[The monster purred as he flicked a tattered sable tress from his ember-like vision set solely upon her. Eyes, ears, myriads of souls directed to her, crouching, waiting, longing the sweet murmur of her succinct behest.]

[Having sent her other minions out upon their errands and to bed for the night, Integra sat alone at her desk, only the small oil lamp atop it providing gentle light.

Cold and pale was she that sat upon her tattered throne, but she held firm in the face of the coalescing darkness, signaling her monster's obedience.]

You do, servant.

[She lifted one snowy-garbed hand, finger crooked appropriately. An eyebrow lifted.]

Come here, Alucard.

[Creeping evenly across the floor as if his very presence were soaked into the rotting boards, the scarlet specter approached her bench, like the tried before the judge and jury. His great stature lowered, sinking eye to eye. Cold cobalt to Fiery coals.]

Master?

[But a query. No longer could he offer excuses for his folly, yet try ever did it wane on her patience, ever more did it try like a erroneous weight on his own. He would sooner rip apart every tendon on his wretched form to find that infuriating bangle would it not send him to a third grave.]

[She could well understand. Integra Hellsing had a good suspicion that the scientists present this wretched place knew exactly what sort of power lurked beneath her minion's chip, this their extreme reluctance in doing so.

But Alucard would find a way. She knew that. He'd never failed her order before and she knew he wouldn't begin doing so now.

So, no excuses. She asked for none. Besides, she had faith in her monster. Blasphemous, perhaps, but it was there all the same and she made no excuses for it.

Which was what prompted the cold woman to take that beckoning hand and gently but authoritatively brush back a thick lock of black from the beast's crimson stare.]

How do you fare, pet?

[Living in the same place meant Pip felt he could take as long as he damn well wanted to to respond to that call. She knew he was there, no need to rush it.

So it's several long minutes before he finally makes it over from his corner of the apartment.]

You said work, oui? What's zhis about zhen?

[She steeples her fingers together and gives him a hard stare.]

It has come to my unfortunate attention that a new threat has arrived here, Captain. An old enemy, one I personally saw destroyed in my own hallway.

As such, I have a mission for you. I want you to..."observe" Jan Valentine - and yes, he's a vampire, one of Millennium's early pets - and find out just exactly what that miscreant's plans are. Walter has dealt with him before, compare information.

[She sits back, then waves a hand in a negligent sort of gesture.]

Oh, and see to it that the police girl eats.

[The mention of an enemy got his attention fast. This place was starting to get boring--at least this gave him something of interest.]

Zhat task will be no problem. Is zhere any word on 'is location? [Not that it would be hard for him to find that out, but any information they already had was good to know.]

Eats... [Oh he knows what she means all too well.] Suggestions on 'ow to do zhat, sir? [He's only ever goaded her into feeding while dying before, thanks.].

Not a the moment. Although I'd bet any cesspool would be likely.

[Integra narrows her eyes slightly.]

Make it an order if you have to, Captain. Whatever means necessary in this case.

Now now, Hellsing-san, there are far more pertinent things to worry over than the passing of the Gregorian year.

Hn, cold weather is not a novelty. In London it gets much colder.

Mother of God, I just saw that Nazi filth infect the network. I heard he was rather abhorrent, but I assumed that much of any swastika-bearing trog.

[My hate for them over-rides his hate for you. Let us bond in our shared malice for neo-nazi scum!]

Please tell me you've sent your men out to deal with him?
