I think it's funny partially because it's something that many people wouldn't expect you to say; it shocks them. Like when someone asked you who you were going to prom with - I don't think any of us expected a ménage à trois joke, but there it was. Little do we realise what lurks beneath Larkin's wholesome exterior . . . I honestly think that you could use that to you advantage, to the point where you could conceivably own a small nation.
