Timeline: S8 - S9

SEASON 8

NOTE: In S8 there is another one year time jump. Much like S6, the Supernatural team has not actually skipped a year chronologically, even though they’ve skipped a year in the narrative. So, if you want the dates to be in chronological time, you will have to add 2 years to all dates listed. Any date marked with two asterisks ** need only ( Read more... )

Wow. I tip my hat to your awesome chronological skills!

This gives me another reason to want an Impala. I want the ability to drive 100 miles in ten minutes!

Haha, yeah, if only... maybe the Impala is secretly a private jet... though I don't think Dean would be cool with that. :P

And yet again you do battle with the logistics of space and time to wrestle some semblance of order out of chaos--I salute your dedication (and worry about your sanity :D )

Haha, my sanity thanks you for your concern, or would, if it existed. ;)

Congratulations on getting S9 timeline done. Although a lot of dates are missing, it is still nice to put a general timeframe into these episodes.

Thanks! They gave me very little to work with this year.

I suspect someone told them about your diligence and they were deliberately fudging *g*

Yeah... I've suspected the same over years - not sure if that makes me paranoid or not. :P

I don't really go here anymore, fandom-wise, but I wanted to bless and thank you for this beautiful thing you've created. It's honestly a wonder. <3

Thanks!

Have you moved to a different fandom, or just off of LJ? I'm just curious. Maybe, some day, I'll do it again for another show. :)

Both, actually! I didn't so much move on from SPN as drop out, or, shall we say I'm taking a sabbatical for my health. P: I'd already drifted a little during the hiatus between 8 and 9, then when 9 started airing there were a lot of shenanigans I felt were bad in a small space of time so I swore it off completely for a while. And now I'm kind of drifting back, but read enough goodawesomelovely fan stuffs that returning to canon is jarring, you know?
(*Edit, also I followed the migration over to Tumblr a while ago, but I'm drifting back to LJ now a little too. It's funny how stuff works in cycles sometimes.)
Any other fandom that you chose to do another timeline for would be honoured by it, I'm sure. :)

Cool. I'm always curious about this stuff. I've lost a little interest in SPN over the years, but I still like my projects, so I doubt I'll ever leave the show completely.

I got a tumblr two a while ago, but I guess I'm not very good at tumbling, because I've got far more readers/followers here on LJ than I do on tumblr. Perhaps because tumblr just isn't the best platform for the types of projects and discussions that I'm interested in. It's more of a pretty-pictures place.

I started working on a Timeline for Teen Wolf, it's an "internal" timeline where I only timeline episodes as they relate to each other, rather than as they relate to "real time"... there are a lot of good timelines for Teen Wolf out there though. When I did Supernatural, there really wasn't anyone doing as comprehensive a timeline as mine.

Anyway, I'm glad you're drifting back to LJ now. Thanks for stopping by and saying nice things to me! I appreciate it. :)

Directed here from the Supernatural Wiki and these are amazing. Just wanted to point out something helpful, for the timing on "Bloodlines": I skipped this episode, so I'm not sure which school is in question here or if they even specify, but the University of Chicago, for example, runs on a quarter schedule. So the school year is made up of 3 quarters and 1 summer quarter, which would mean that Spring finals WOULD be in June.

Thanks. Really? And the summer "quarter" isn't truncated? Because, if it's three "quarters" where's the fourth quarter?

I could look it up! I guess! :P More work for me! Still, good to know if that's the case. It wouldn't make any sense weather-wise, but it would make way more sense timeline-wise. And, hey, it wouldn't be the first episode to have preposterous weather for location/time of year, since we had a snow-storm in Missouri in May (I think) in the very first season.

Sorry, the summer quarter IS the fourth. So the normal school year is three quarters with summer being the fourth. So in the fall, they start a bit later than other schools do. You can see their current schedule here: http://www.uchicago.edu/academics/calendar/

I only know this cause my best friend and my HS boyfriend both went there for undergrad (many, many years ago).

I've been organizing a lot of Supernatural info since I watched, and the one thing I realized is this show has absolutely no regard for any timeline. Bah!

Okay, I just totally looked it up, and it IS completely different than what I'm used to when it comes to University schedules...

You're completely right! I should never have doubted you! My comment about the weather still stands, but other than that, cool tools. I'll go add a note to the Wiki too!
