Day 44 | Phone Call to All

Feb 26, 2011 12:21

All this water is going to make my armour rust.

Do we have some sort of clothing merchant for this sort of weather nearby? Oiled leathers would probably hold up better to torrential rain, and a cloak wouldn't hurt either.
This is just getting ridiculous. Why can't it just be sunny?

Frankly, I think clothes are the least of our worries right now.

And even if there was a place to buy leather, I don't think there'd be any way to get inside. From what I hear, once the shops here are closed, they're closed.

That's just-- [Cue barrage of curses here, although it sounds like Cousland's holding the phone well away from her face for the duration.]

Whoever owns those shops needs to be publically flogged! There aren't any holidays that merit closing shop until spring, for Maker's sake.

I was in town the other day. Everything's dark and closed up.

So I've been advised. Where the blazes would the shopkeeper even go, anyway?

[A shrug. This whole place has him baffled.] Probably the same place the entire police department went. It was empty too.

It makes no sense. What possible reason could there be for the whole population to just up and leave?

Um, the S mart is back but, it's closed. I checked the other day...

Everything about this just smacks of suspicion. Something's afoot.

...the Iceman may have something to do with it.

Let's hope not.

First the sword and now this shit? This town's really got it out for you.

And no, I don't think there's anywhere to get clothes, since the store's still locked. A real pain in the ass, if you ask me.

Somehow, that wouldn't really surprise me if it was true.

I'm not planning on sticking around here if that's the case. The forest has better prospects for food and shelter if the stores are closed, cannibal or no cannibal.

Did it ever occur to you that the forest covers the high ground while the town is settled in a natural depression?
