There is always a solution, although it may not be the one favorable to most people. He has, in fact, offered two.
Those are simply not situations that should be accepted at face value. Should there be a path of no bloodshed, that must be the one found and taken.
Unless the rest of this town also believes in his god Ra and the necessary sacrifice, then we can apprehend him rather than agreeing to his choices. Sure the majority of this town does not agree with the idea of sacrificing people, even if it's just one?
Regardless of the reason, some sacrifice may be necessary. If we choose to fight, there's no guarantee that only five will die. He's powerful, and no one has managed to apprehend him yet.
And if he asks for more sacrifices? Who is to say this would be contained to only one situation?
From what I have seen of this town in the little time I have been trapped here, it is logical to conclude that the tides of fate change as rapidly as the weather. Our efforts should be used to find a way out, and that would provide for the safest conclusion.
Would it not be best to keep him behind bars, if he is the type to attack others? It would not only be for our safety, but for his. I'm certain there was a police in town.
We have no forces of that kind to keep the antagonizers in check. And I fear that obtaining him would be harder and need a skill beyond that of most to get to him. His defenses are to reverse attacks that are used against him.
For example, if I were to use my sword, I would suffer my own sword strikes.
An interesting piece of information I had not been told.
I would trust in the town's judgement for what to do, then. Although on my part, I advise peace. Perhaps the strategy best suited would be to withdraw and wait until he comes to us.
Even then, it would be him against everyone in the town. Perhaps that would even the odds more.
To put it bluntly, he kidnapped four or five of us, tortured them, and then we had to break them out. He then killed two more people, who have since then come back somehow, and there are other occurrences that I am not sure if are connected to his actions or not.
He's a bastard and needs to be taken down some how. Putting him in jail is not going to keep him.
What I have heard of him, people fear his abilities and as such, are terrified before they have even met him. It is a debilitating ploy on his part, but one that has worked for many throughout history.
Tell me, is he the one who is powerful, or is it something on his person that gives him power?

Surely the... warriors of this town would have tried to keep everyone safe?
