Can you hear yourself? You'd sacrifice yourself to a man who believes in a false god, let alone the fact that he'd probably just grow more and more bloodthirsty.
How real are his promises? What guarantee do we have that he'll keep his word if he receives his 'sacrifice' - or, for that matter, that he can banish the fog?
I wouldn't expect someone who is amused by the idea of forcing others to make sacrifices to be reliable, or indeed particularly in touch with reality - especially as he seems to believe he speaks for some sort of god. If he was so dedicated to the idea, why shouldn't he sacrifice himself?
I... I would r-rather... I would rather volunteer... and-- and have him be... be wrong. Or... or break his word... s-so others... can know. For certain. Th-than... Than s-sit back and-- and let him... let him go after others.
