( Vanille's phone call is sort of an accident - she's not used to gadgets like these, and back on Cocoon she and Fang had mostly hit buttons until something happened. This device isn't quite so complicated as that, but it's still not like anything she's used back home. She manages to make it work by sheer dumb luck, though, and the video function

[That's a familiar face. A moment, and Fang's face pops up into view. She studies him for a moment...this isn't right. She doesn't smile just yet, too displaced to find even her usual flippant humor in the situation, but her eyes soften.] The one and only. Hey, Snow. [a lazy wave.] Mind telling me where we are?

[Oh man, is he glad to see that face. But...something's off. Did they...did they fail their Focus or something?]

Man, you scared me. Last time I saw you, you and Vanille were-

[...Maybe it'd be best not to spill.]

Well, it's been a while. This place is Bell Pointe, but I don't think it's on Cocoon or Pulse if what the other locals act like says anything.

Oh! Ah... ( SO SHEEPISH YOU DON"T EVEN. ) The... phone?

Then the answer is clearly yes. It helps if you move away from the camera, too.
