As if Bell Pointe was personally set to put Nikolae's luck right, out of the fog came two shapes, one following the other. This town apparently wouldn't stand for the injustice of the cop not meeting his fair share of monsters ( ... )

Nikolae would have observed the first monster longer than he did, it being nothing like others had described, but quickly drew his gun when the second beast broke out from the fog and continued to charge straight for him. Firing off bullets, he dove for some bushes when they had no effect, despite him hitting obvious kill zones. Of all the times a monster had to come out, it had to bring another one with it?!

Getting out of the bushes, he quickly looked for the locations of both. The moose-like animal was still charging and had come back for him now that he was in view.

Rolling out of the once-upon-a-time-moose's way, Rinzler came up in a crouch ready to fight it head on. When the animal abruptly changed direction and charged at the other (program?/User?) person, Rinzler didn't make any effort to stop it. Stepping out of the way, he flexed one of his arms experimentally and watched as a few more glowing pixels bled out with distaste.

Suddenly he froze and his head whipped around at the sound of the gunshots. Watching intently, Rinzler waited for some indication of what the little machine would do to either the animal or the man.

Nothing happened.

The animal was distracted now, and he circled it slowly, hoping it would show him what it was capable of in attacking the young man - or vice versa. Since he'd arrived in this place, he'd only had things try to derezz him; if he could learn something from the beast before he killed it, he might be better equipped to handle the others.

Roaring, the moose lowered its head and charged for Nikolae, but luckily, he ducked out of the way before it could hit him. However, the beast only made a U-turn and headed straight for him again, this time, hitting Nikolae. Letting out a grunt, Nikolae grabbed onto the beast's antlers and held on tighter as it thrashed its head around.

Holding onto it didn't come without costs, as when he tried to get to his gun, he lost his grip and fell below it.

Aiming quickly, Nikolae shot another bullet up into its throat and rolled just before a hoof came smashing down on him. Apparently, something more drastic than bullets were going to have to be used. And this said nothing for the other monster who just seemed to be watching.
