Shinjiro, for his part, had completely forgotten about his agreement with Laura, or his suggestion even. The food was running out, but he didn't even know what they could do about it. He'd given some thought to Monkey's suggestion of fishing, but he didn't know anything about shoving a damned harpoon into the water and hoping to poke one, and there were no stores open to buy fishing supplies at to help with the humans who'd never tried to grapple a flopping fish with their bare hands.

There wasn't much he could do about anything they were stuck in, and it bothered him more than he'd been letting on. The food was running out, the basement was filling with water, the streets were flooded and the water was still rising. What the fuck were they supposed to do, just sit around and wait for the water to get to the bottom floor? Did they really get pulled here to get stuck in the middle-American version of Venice?

He was jerked out of his revelry by a knock at the door. What the fuck?

He answered, and blinked for a moment. "Yeah?"

"Hello." She looked up at him and blinked. She was wearing a dark red sweater that she'd picked out with Daken when they'd been shopping, it had a mildly gothic flare to it that looked odd with her tiny build. It took her a few seconds to realize that Shinjiro had never actually seen her. While she had seen him briefly, he had never seen her in person or in video. She shifted her weight causing her boots to make a squeaking noise.

"You are Shinjiro?"

Well, there was one thing he could guarantee. He sure as hell didn't like the idea of somebody knowing him when he didn't know them. There was something about her voice that was familiar, but other than that, he didn't know shit about her, and that bothered him.

"I know you?"

She nodded. "Yes. We have spoken on the phones." She paused for a moment and titled her head. "I am Laura."
