It had taken him a bit to get his bearings. New town, new layout. But 'Jill' had been right. It hadn't taken him long to find the Police Station. Thankfully Bell Pointe didn't seem to be all that large, and like most places, heading to the middle of town was all he needed to get himself pointed in the right direction.
There was a strange sense of apprehension as he approached though. Chris couldn't place what it was. He was chalking it up to the fact he was a long damned way from where he was supposed to be. But there was still a... funny little niggling. Plus, 'Jill's' warning about keeping an eye out had him on edge. Jill wouldn't have said something like that unless there was a damned good reason for it, after all.
He didn't see her right away, which he thought was a little odd. But he wasn't against waiting, and so he strolled up the steps, moving to sit himself down upon one of the middle steps, his hands resting on his knees. Keeping his eyes out for his old friend, and partner.
Odd for him to take such a blase action such as sitting on the steps. Perhaps he was fully convinced that visiting his "partner" would be no more dangerous than sitting in his kitchen. It would be so easy to shoot him in the head from his vantage point. Let the body rot and be done with it. It's not as if they had an actual police force to do ballistics test and no one except him and Jill knew he carried a firearm.
But Wesker enjoyed making things personal when it came to the ex-officer. The double agent pushed himself away from the wall he had been resting against, walking out from behind the building, making himself painfully obvious. Of course, he was smiling.
Without really knowing what to expect, Chris had thought it prudent to put himself in a position where Jill might see him. This vantage also gave him a good enough look up and down the street to see anything that might have been approaching.
Imagine his surprise, then, when the man that approached was, not his former partner Jill Valentine- but his former Captain. He was on his feet in an instant. The gun that had been resting at his hip came out, came up. But it was disbelief that was on Chris's features now.
He didn't understand how Wesker could be here. He almost rubbed his eyes, just to make sure what he was seeing was real. Didn't want to take his eyes off the other to do so, though.
"Wesker!" it was snarled out, Chris's jaw locked, he almost bit his tongue clean off, so hard and so quickly did it clench in his mouth.
"Christopher, how nice of you to visit." Was that disbelief written on his features? A strange reaction. If anything, Chris should have seen it coming. They had been playing this game of cat and mouse for the last decade, why would now be any different? Perhaps something was off, as it had been when Valentine arrived. He had heard mention of other people coming from different times, eras. It must have been the same with them.
He would never inquire about the state of things in their worlds, though. Wesker would just play along; he was exceedingly good at that.
