And here comes Elaine jogging around the corner, almost skidding straight into the older woman.

"Sorry! Oh..." There was a small uneasy moment when she wasn't sure if she was going to fall, but eventually she caught herself, leaving deep gouges in the snow where her feet slipped slightly.

She looked up and started at the armor and weapons, before looking Shepard properly in the eye. "Hi."

Shepard quickly retreated a few steps, glanced around to find suitable places for cover. Could never be too careful, after all. Her hand had started to go back for her gun when she heard the words.

Well. She could try to be civil, at least. She was armed if anything serious went down.

"Hello," she replied, nodding her head just slightly.

"Sorry, I didn't really see you there." She tries to smile a little bit, despite Shepard's wariness. At least the woman hadn't pulled out her guns and shot Elaine. That definitely would've been a bummer. "I was just running some errands. Are you... new here?"

[[OOC: She are wings in the icons, but they're currently concealed. :P]]

No worries! paragonsiha January 22 2011, 03:02:57 UTC
"Very new."

She relaxed slightly, but she was still on edge. After all, people had been friendly before only to turn around and try to kill her. So she wouldn't let her guard lower too much.

"Thought I'd get a look around the place."

She refused to believe there was no way to leave. Not until she saw it for herself.

Why Milo thought it was a good idea to walk around Bell Pointe at night was really anybody's guess. The animal noises echoed through the dark and made him more than a little jumpy...that hooting owl could've been some sort of monster the likes of which he'd only seen on the trip to Atlantis! And that shadow--a terrible man-eating...something!

It was during this panic that Milo first laid eyes upon the strange armored person skulking about.

They didn't look friendly.

Milo gulped, his feet suddenly glued to the cement. How was he going to get out of this one?

Shepard saw something moving and tensed. A strange, jumpy movement. Not a Husk, but it could be one of many things. Her eyes narrowed as she tried to focus.

"Show yourself," she ordered.

Shepard had a hand on her gun, ready to attack if the approaching figure proved hostile.

"I'm here! I--I-I mean no harm, really!" Milo cried, holding his hands up defensively. Not that he was sure where the voice was coming from yet at all. He looked all around for the source, but in the dark, there wasn't much TO see...

He gulped.

Getting shot on his second day in town wasn't something he was very eager to do. At all.

The whirring of the gun stopped, and the woman lowered her weapon. She stepped forward slowly, more into the light, also trying to get a better look at her previous target.

"We'll see about that."

After all, wouldn't be the first time someone said they meant her no harm then attacked as soon as she appeared to lower her guard.
